   THE WAY TO the REHABILITATION

the way of rehabilitation

The way to the rehabilitation an addict requires a lot of patience:

The rehabilitation requires understanding and love from those close to him.  Addiction is not a game, it is a drama for which we have no words to describe it at its true intensity.  The lack of drugs produces crisis states manifested by excessive nervousness, violence, robbery and crime.  This is the period of withdrawal which in medical terms translates as “the body’s response to the sudden absence of the drug with which it is accustomed.”  In withdrawal, the symptoms and their intensity differ depending on the drug administered.

What is the strongest abstinence?

The strongest withdrawal occurs with heroin and is manifested by severe tremor, joint and muscle pain, abdominal pain accompanied by symptoms specific to the flu, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, sweating, restlessness and acute insomnia.  Re-administration of the drug restores the body to a state of apparent normalcy and lasts only a few hours.

The impression that the drug saves the addict is a cheap illusion.  In order to really get rid of this nightmare, the addict needs a lot of will and self-control, but also a lot of help and understanding from those close to him.  Returning a drug addict means a lot, it’s like giving birth to a baby.  A drug addict out of the clutches of hell is born a second time.  For the addicted person, recovery means going back to life.  Recovery means facing oneself and accepting oneself as a worthy human being – without drugs or alcohol.  Recovery involves profound changes in the way we look at each other and the world around us.  It means taking responsibility for your own feelings and behavior.  The recovery process requires great courage on the part of the dependent person and great help from others.

We also help family members

We believe that more attention should be paid to the needs felt by the family, before, during and after the rehabilitation of the dependent person.  This is no longer clearly defined as a “problem.  So much energy was wasted and money was spent on a single family member, while the rest of the family was condemned to ignore what they endured every day with an addict.  We believe that everyone is condemned to ignore the terrible feeling of insecurity, of confusion, in order to be able to adapt to the new situation in which the addicted person has given up the addictive behavior.

We hope that those who are emotionally involved with the addict in this process will recognize the magnitude of the changes they expect in the addict’s recovery process.  We also hope that they will ask for help as they become aware that they too need to change, and as their own feelings reflect that they are aware that the addict is becoming responsible again.

Control your children.

Parents can check if their children are using drugs by a simple test.  With the “Test Screen” package, which can be ordered at Sensiblu pharmacies, the parent can find out if their son or daughter is using drugs and what, in just a few minutes.  It is performed quickly in saliva or urine and detects over 10 types of drugs, such as marijuana, amphetamines, methamphetamines, cocaine, opiates or phencyclidines.  “Testing young people could mean a significant reduction in consumers in our country and a very effective means of prevention with results in all countries with a high number of consumers,” say distribution company officials, who call on all institutions to participate with  special interest in stopping drug use.  Pharmacists say there are three types of tests, one with saliva, which detects most types of drugs, and two with urine.  It only takes 10 minutes for a colored band to appear on the screen of the device next to the drug used.  The most expensive test costs 112 lei because it detects the presence of several drugs in saliva.

We hope that families will also become aware of their full involvement in the addict’s illness, not as a cause but as a partner in suffering.  And we also hope that, recognizing their own need for development, they will be fully involved in the recovery process of the whole family, and will feel a sense of satisfaction, whether or not the dependent person finds a new path or not.
